"From cybersecurity strategy to suspicious emails, protecting the business behind the technology."

Hello Friends,

Technology makes it easier than ever to run a business, communicate with customers, manage information, and get things done. But every new connection, platform, login, and digital shortcut also gives us something else to consider: Can I trust this?

That question runs through this issue of Tech-Tuned Marketing.

On Tech Diva Biz Talks, I sit down with IT and cybersecurity expert Eddie Clark for a conversation about protecting the technology businesses rely on every day. And in this issue’s Tech-Tuned Tip, I share two very real messages that landed in my own email quarantine—one designed to create fear, the other to offer an enticing opportunity.

Both remind us that cybersecurity isn’t only an IT problem. It’s a business practice, and sometimes the most important security tool is the person deciding whether to click.

Trust, but Tech-Check. Before you click, connect, grant access, or respond, take a moment to look beyond what appears on the screen.

With purpose and pixels,
Audrey “Tech Diva” Wiggins

Tech-Tuned Tip

Tech Check: Would You Click This?

phishing email meta fake

Two messages recently landed in my email quarantine claiming to be from Meta.

One warned of a “Copyright Policy Violation.” The other said Altogether Marketing was “Eligible for the Blue Facebook Verification Badge.”

Neither came from Meta.

The giveaway was in the actual sender addresses (spaces added to keep them from being live links):

support43 @meta-info. win
support72 @meta-notifymail. win

Notice what the scammers were trying to trigger. One used fear: Your business is in trouble. The other used flattery and opportunity: Your business has earned something special.

Different emotions. Same objective: Get you to click before you stop and inspect the message.

Before You Click

1. Check the actual sender address, not just the display name.
2. Look closely at the domain after the @ sign.
3. Don’t use a suspicious email’s link to investigate its own claim. Go directly to the platform using your usual app, bookmark, or login.
4. When in doubt, quarantine, report, delete, or block.

Tech Diva Tip: Urgency is not authentication. Neither is a familiar logo or company name.

Technology literacy isn’t only about knowing how to use the latest tools. Sometimes, it’s knowing when not to trust what shows up on your screen.

Tech Diva Biz Talks Podcast: Smart Conversations for Entrepreneurs

"Later Never Comes: You Can’t Put Off Cybersecurity with Eddie Clark"

Cybersecurity is one of those things many business owners know they should address eventually. But as Eddie Clark puts it, “Later never comes.”

In this episode of Tech Diva Biz Talks, Eddie, founder and CEO of Solve iT, breaks down the everyday technology habits that can quietly create risk, from open Wi-Fi and browser-stored passwords to unauthorized apps and delayed software updates.

We also talk about cyber liability insurance, employee behavior, co-managed IT, and why technology should be part of business planning before something goes wrong.

If cybersecurity has been sitting somewhere near the bottom of your to-do list, this conversation may move it up a few spots.

The Wrap-Up

Thanks for reading.

Technology should help us move faster, but speed doesn’t have to mean skipping good judgment.

Whether you’re evaluating your company’s cybersecurity or simply deciding whether an email deserves your click, awareness matters. Ask questions. Check the source. Verify through a trusted channel. And remember that a polished logo, familiar company name, urgent warning, or exciting offer doesn’t make a message legitimate.

The goal isn’t to become suspicious of every piece of technology we use. It’s to become more intentional about how we trust it.

Until next time…

Stay smart. Stay human. And before you click, Tech-Check.
