Intelligent Customer Service: The Human Side of Smart Marketing

“Get your digital plumbing right, everything else falls in line.”—Ryan Burch

Hello Friends,

Some marketing lessons come from strategy. Others come from everyday human interactions.

Recently I had two very different customer service experiences that reminded me of something simple but powerful: how we show up in business matters.
This week’s marketing tip looks at the intelligent side of customer service and why treating service interactions as a collaboration can change more than just the outcome of a support ticket.

In this episode of Tech Diva Biz Talks, we explore how businesses can stop wasting money on scattered marketing tactics and start building systems that actually produce measurable ROI.

Let’s dive in.

Tech and Marketing Tips

The Intelligent Side of Customer Service

Customer service isn’t only about systems, scripts, or response times. At its best, it’s a collaboration between two people trying to solve a problem.

When we contact customer support whether through chat, email, or phone, we’re usually frustrated. Something is broken, not working, or costing us time or money.

But here’s the part we sometimes forget:
The person on the other side of that conversation is a human being doing their job, trying to help, putting food on their table, and working toward their own dreams.

They don’t deserve our anger.

Recently, I had two very different customer service experiences.

In one interaction, the representative I contacted was insensitive and gave partial answers. I knew something was missing because when I contacted another department, they gave me the full explanation I needed.

I addressed it directly, but respectfully. Think of it as a teachable moment rather than a confrontation.

On the flip side, I contacted support for my domain reseller because one of my websites was down. I was frustrated, but calm and polite. After resolving the issue, the representative wrote something that caught me off guard:
“You are one of the most polite customers I have had the pleasure of chatting with. If I have the opportunity to assist you again, I would be happy to do so.”

Then they added:
“Thanks for being so calm during the conversation. God bless you and your family with good health.” Dang. I almost felt guilty.

That moment reminded me of something simple but powerful:
How we show up matters. Customer service isn’t just about what companies do for us. It’s also about who we choose to be when things go wrong. A little patience and kindness can change someone’s entire day. And in business, and life, that’s part of being…

Smart. Human. Altogether.

Tech-Tuned Tip:
The next time you contact customer support, remember you’re not just solving a problem. You’re interacting with a person.
