Hello Friends,
This issue is centered on protecting your business before the next “uh-oh” moment shows up.
Technology gives small offices more tools than ever, but it also gives us more places where something can go sideways: suspicious emails, website updates, payment tools, login issues, app permissions, and those unexpected tech questions that always seem to arrive when you are already doing five other things.
That is why this week’s Tech-Tuned Marketing Tip focuses on small office tech habits that protect your business. Before you click, connect, download, reply, or hand over access, it is worth slowing down and knowing what kind of support you may need.
I’m also spotlighting a powerful conversation with Tom Malesic on Tech Diva Biz Talks. We talked about why your website still matters, even in the age of AI search and social media overload. Spoiler alert: your website should not just sit there looking cute. It should help your business work.
You’ll also find featured resources for podcast planning, website support, visibility tools, branded merchandise, and upcoming learning opportunities.

Before You Click: Small Office Tech Habits That Protect Your Business
|
Security, support, and smart systems for business owners who do not have time for tech chaos.
Technology keeps changing, but some of the biggest risks for small offices still show up in very familiar ways: a strange email, a suspicious link, a payment question, a website issue, a login that suddenly does not work, or an app asking for access to your microphone, files, or account.
For many small business owners, the first instinct is to text or email the person who “knows tech” and ask, “Can you check this real quick?”
And sometimes, yes, the answer may only take a minute. But the reality is it can take 2 hours to troubleshoot before a resolution is realized.
But here is the business truth: quick does not always mean simple, and simple does not always mean free.
When a consultant, web professional, or tech support provider reviews a suspicious message, checks a payment connection, investigates a website issue, or troubleshoots an app setting, they are using experience, judgment, and business knowledge to help protect your systems. That support has value.
Small-office security is not just about software. It is about habits, boundaries, and knowing when to pause before clicking, replying, downloading, or connecting a new tool.
Before you click, ask yourself:
▪ Is this email really from the person or company it claims to be?
▪ Was I expecting this attachment, invoice, payment request, or login notice?
▪ Does the link look unusual?
▪ Is the message pressuring me to act quickly?
▪ Am I being asked to share a password, code, banking information, or account access?
▪ Do I know who to call if I am unsure?
| ▪ |

| ▪ |
Does the link look unusual? |
| ▪ |
Is the message pressuring me to act quickly? |
| ▪ |
Am I being asked to share a password, code, banking information, or account access? |
| ▪ |
Do I know who to call if I am unsure? |
That last question matters.
Some issues call for a website professional. Some call for an IT professional. Some call for your payment processor, bank, software provider, or cybersecurity expert. The key is knowing the difference before something goes wrong and being budget-ready when support is needed.
For small offices, a little planning can prevent a lot of panic. Keep your website updated. Use strong passwords and multi-factor authentication. Back up important files. Be cautious with payment tools and plugins. Train yourself and your team to slow down when something feels off.
And most importantly, do not wait until there is a problem to decide how support will be handled.
A smart tech support plan helps protect your time, your money, your website, your customer data, and your peace of mind.
Need help keeping your website from turning into business chaos?
Altogether Marketing offers website maintenance plans for business owners who need practical support with website updates, backups, minor changes, and website-related troubleshooting.
For issues outside website maintenance, such as payment processor problems, device settings, email security, or software-specific support, we can help you identify the right type of professional or provider to contact.
A clear support plan helps protect your time, your website, your customer data, and your peace of mind.
Let’s make sure your website is supported before the next update, plugin issue, or tech surprise shows up.

"Your Website Should Sell While You Sleep with Tom Malesic"
Tech Diva Takeaway
What if your website worked harder than you do?
In this episode of Tech Diva Biz Talks, I sit down with marketing strategist, consultant, and author Tom Malesic for a practical, no-fluff conversation about why your website should still be the center of your marketing strategy — even in the age of AI search and social media overload.
We unpack:
why websites still matter,
what actually helps businesses rank on Google,
how to improve conversions instead of just chasing traffic,
what business owners should understand about AI-driven search,
and the metrics that really tell you whether your marketing is working.
Tom also shares his perspective on AI video cloning, Google’s Map Pack, and the biggest mistakes small businesses make when trying to market online.
If your website has been acting more like a digital brochure than a business tool, this episode is your wake-up call.
