Business Tips with Altogether Marketing

Professional Mode on Facebook

When I logged on Facebook this week, I was given the option to try out "Professional Mode." I decided to try it and updated my profile. I grabbed the following excerpt from Facebook Help Center here to share with you.

"Follower settings are changing
We’re simplifying settings on Facebook. Your default profile will soon no longer have the option to set its follower setting to Public.

You’ll have two options

Keep letting anyone follow you on professional mode

1. You’ll keep any followers who aren’t your friends and get a Follow button on your profile.
2. Anyone on Facebook will be able to follow you and see your public content in their Feed. There’s no limit to how many followers you can have. If you want to, you can still choose to share content to friends only.
3. Complete activation to access all features available through professional mode.

If you don’t choose one of these options before follower settings change, we’ll automatically turn on professional mode for your profile so you can keep your followers.

You can turn professional mode off anytime. However, access to some features, such as running ads and boosting posts, will be limited and require you to first take the following actions.

Enable ads.

Agree to Meta’s Commercial Terms and acknowledge that Facebook will show more information about profiles in professional mode.

Note: These changes will happen to profiles gradually, so you might see some profiles with public followers but not professional mode for now.
When someone follows you, this means your posts may appear in their Feed. When you become friends with someone on Facebook, they automatically start following you. You can also allow people who aren't your friends to follow you."
