Tech and Marketing Tips "Lessons From a Scanner and a Camel"

You really can teach an old Diva new tricks! I just discovered that my printer’s scanner can detect and separate individual images when scanning. Before you jump on me with a “we already knew that” or “where have you been?”—let me explain. The truth is, this Diva hasn’t had to lay out a funeral program in a few years, especially one that called for a 3-page photo collage. I last designed my aunt’s in 2023, but this one was a whole new challenge. Let’s just say I’m feeling pretty “diva-proud” of myself right now. HAHAHA

And then came another aha moment. Out of nowhere, a fuchsia-colored camel icon popped up on my Google Drive toolbar. Scared the life out of me! First I restarted Chrome, then my entire computer and finally, it disappeared. Turns out, when you’re viewing a shared Google Doc, random animal icons show up on the toolbar to represent other people reviewing the file.

Did I figure that out on my own? Absolutely not. Shout-out to Stephen Giovanetto, who came to the rescue after I posted my SOS in the group. Thanks, Stephen!

Moral of the story: even seasoned tech divas can stumble into new discoveries. And sometimes the best tips come from asking for help.
