"The one who listens to you listens to Me, and the one who rejects you rejects Me; and he who rejects Me rejects the One who sent me."
- Luke 10:16
D.L. Moody once approached a man leaning on a lamppost and asked him if was a Christian. Offended, the man responded, “Mind your own business!” Moody replied, “I’m sorry if I offended you, but that is my business.” What Moody declared as his business is the business of all who know Christ as their Savior. Often we are hesitant to inquire or share the gospel with those we know, like family, neighbors and coworkers because we are afraid of offending them or fear their rejection. We need to follow the example of our Lord who was “The stone which the builders rejected… and a rock of offense.” Every time we sin it is an offense to our Holy God, perfect in all His glory. If we do not fear offending our Lord, “the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead”, why do we fear offending and being rejected by mortal man? Let us all pray that we may have the burden and the boldness to carry on the Lord’s business. Be encouraged!
