“O Lord God of hosts, who is like Thee, O mighty Lord?”

Many believers can get discouraged because, to them, the ungodly have taken over America, and presently it does not look like things will change in the near future. Christianity is losing ground, and cults and false religions are experiencing phenomenal growth along with the proliferation of sin. However, we can look back in the history of America and see when there were times of apathy and antagonism toward spiritual things with outbursts of unbelief and immorality, yet God poured out his grace. In the past, under such conditions, God brought about a spiritual awakening resulting in salvation, sin forsaken, marriages reconciled, families strengthened, and the saved drawing near to God. Not only were believers and the churches strengthened, but society benefited because although small in number, some still proclaimed the gospel, had hearts burdened for the sinner, prayed fervently, walked by the Spirit, and were not consumed by what the world had to offer. At times like this, it is easy to give up but do not give up on God. O Lord of hosts, there is none like Thee, O mighty Lord. Be encouraged!
