"How great is Thy goodness..."

- Psalm 31:19

David declared in the Psalms, "I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." We know that David continually faced the challenge of his own shortcomings and those of his many adversaries. It is no different today for those who want to be people after God’s own heart. But should we live in despair? We, too, have seen the goodness of the Lord. Through the lens of Scripture, we see Him coming to seek and to save the lost. We see Him dying on the cross for our sin. We see Him as our shield and strength. We see His word as a joy to our hearts. We see His comfort in all our afflictions. We see Him supplying all our needs according to His riches in glory. We see the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe. We see Him delivering us from every evil deed and bringing us safely into His heavenly Kingdom. Why live in despair in the land of the living? In the world, we face many problems. In Christ, there is goodness for all who believe. Be encouraged!
