In February, Viktor Krasnov, a Russian atheist, went on trial for his opposition to Christianity. He posted on social network, “there is no God” and “The Bible is a collection of Jewish tales.” He is being prosecuted under a 2013 law that criminalizes acts that insult peoples’ religious feelings and beliefs. He is accused by the Russian Investigative Committee of “offending believer’s feelings.” If convicted, he could face up to a year in prison. What a change in a nation that once exalted Atheism, slaughtered millions who identified with Christianity and even boasted it would stamp out Christianity. However, Russia remains an ungodly nation with only a small percentage who identify themselves as evangelical Christians. May the change in Russia remind us that it is God who is sovereign over the nations. Nations change, leaders change, laws change, but “the truth of the Lord is everlasting.” Yes, there is a God and the Bible is His Word. That will never change! Be encouraged!
