If you want the world to love you, you must begin with loving yourself."

A timeless reminder from Louise Hay

Love begins with inner alignment.

It's the week before Valentine's day - a holiday that often focuses on relationships with others.

I invite you to consider how all relationships reflect the one we have with ourselves.

Perhaps to prepare for Valentine's day, take time this week to feel love from the inside first. Maybe make the day more about the relationship with yourself - cultivating that connection, will, make a difference if you want to celebrate with another.

Suggested Practice:

In a meditative state, place your hands on your heart and breathe. When you feel settled in the moment, imagine words that describe what love feels like with yourself.

Is it....
* expansive
* safe
* full
* supportive
* what else?

Sit with the feelings you identified. Let yourself feel love from the inside. You might use the following as a mantra.

▪ I am love.
▪ I am loved.
▪ I can be loving with myself and others.
I am love.
I am loved.
I can be loving with myself and others.

Love begins with inner alignment, with inner alignment, have a fabulous Valentine's Day with yourself or others.

Zoom Yoga in the comfort of your own home is easy. You grab your mat and favorite things, set your screen, and share your desires. Classes are built around those who attend, their level of practice, and their individual needs. Being on Zoom requires you to be personally responsible for yourself - don't do too much, don't do too little - listen to the cues.

Another reminder from Don Miguel Ruiz

What Can I Do?

As we navigate the bombardment of events around the world, I keep coming back to the question, "What can I do?"

From that question, I take action knowing that what I do, think, and feel adds to the collective.

Action might be as simple as ...

▪ Breathing - slowing down
▪ Feeling and sharing gratitude and appreciation
▪ Being personally responsible - reflect on why you do what you do - own your quirks
▪ Being aware of your thoughts, feelings and actions - what are you supporting with them?
▪ Asking yourself tough questions - what are you mirroring in the world?
▪ Looking into your Soul (in the mirror into your eyes)
▪ Smiling more
▪ Spreading small acts of kindness
▪ Making a connection with someone you might have avoided previously
▪ Asking more questions instead of being so certain
▪ Asking yourself what you need, instead of blaming another for not doing what you think they should do
▪ Taking a pause, a walk, a break
▪ Writing and email or letter
▪ Planting a tree
▪ Playing with a child
▪ Showing up being love
▪ Considering Don Miguel Ruiz's 4 Agreements
▪ What else?
