"Call to Me, and I will answer you,..."

- Jeremiah 33:3

We know, in the history of 18th century England, there were many parallels to the United States of America today. There was much conflict and division in the nation. The clergy had sunk into worldliness and Christianity was mocked and criticized with little reservation. It was said that there was a spirit of slumber over the land as if England was from a religious and moral point of view, sound asleep. William Wilberforce, recognizing the seriousness of the decline, spoke these words. “Let true Christians pray continually for their country in this season of national difficulty. We bear upon us but too plainly the marks of a declining empire. Who can say but that the Governor of the universe, Who declares Himself to be a God who hears the prayers of His servants may, in answer to their intercessions, for a while avert our ruin.” The common man and the unknown prayed. God answered their prayers and revival spread across the land. On this week of the inauguration of a new president, can we not do the same? “And call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.” Be encouraged!
