Hello SOECC Members:
Thank you all who attended our SOECC Membership Meeting on Sunday, September 12th. We had a great turnout and we covered a lot of agenda items which I’ve summarized below with some updates
since our last meeting.

OF NOTE: Due to the upcoming Columbus Day weekend, we are postponing our next SOECC Membership Meeting to Sunday, October 17th so do not forget to mark your calendars.

 Membership Update:
We voted in 23 new members; SOECC currently has 1510 members; 1222 membership renewals; 288 members did not renew their membership. Beginning October 1st, if you have not renewed your membership access cards will be turned off and your membership will
be revoked.

 Food/Bar Updates:
We will continue to offer food service Thursday through Saturday until further notice; Music Bingo has returned the last Wednesday of every month; we will be offering a bar food menu on these evenings; our famous “Sunday Dinner’s” will be returning during football season so
keep your eyes/ears open for any updates; we had a great showing of our 16th SOECC Anniversary Celebration and Half-way to St. Patrick’s Day Parade; thanks to all the volunteers who helped out during these events.

 New Bar Manager:
We are happy to announce Jack Aucoin has accepted the position of Bar
Manager. Jack is a long-time member of the club and has been a Volunteer Bartender for the last year; he comes to us with a wealth of experience having managed/owned bars/restaurants for 40+ years in the Boston/Cape Cod area. Join me in welcoming Jack as he transitions into this role; thank you John Flaherty, Rodger Christiansen for helping us with the recruitment of the Bar Manager position; and especially Dennis Leary for your dedication and ongoing support of the Club.

 Building Fund Update:
We recently purchased a 65” Sony Smart TV which has been installed for our visual/listening pleasure; the new system will provide opportunities to view sporting and musical events for our members; the SOECC received two generous donations for this new equipment from
member/s who would like to remain anonymous of $1000.00 each totaling $2000.00; we thank them for their generosity and support. We will continue to create fundraising efforts for our Building Fund with Bake Sales, Raffles, etc.

 Raffle It:
We will be raffling a unique Sea Glass Framed Art Piece donated by Artist Michele Leduc www.capecodbeachcreations.net who is also a club member on Columbus Day Weekend; make sure you stop by to purchase your raffle ticket beginning Friday, October 8th ending Monday, October 11th in support of our Building Fund and your chance to be the lucky winner of this beautiful art piece. Thank you, Michele for your generous contribution to the Club.

 Internal Control Policy Workgroup:
The SOECC BOD will be forming a workgroup to review our current internal controls and provide opportunities for improving operational effectiveness and efficiency with our financial reporting. Rodger Christiansen will be spearheading this work group which will result in creating Internal Control Policies and Procedures for the Club.

 Point of Sale System (POS) Proposal:
The SOECC BOD voted to begin looking at proposals for the purchase or lease of a POS system for the Bar/Food Service which will help our club electronically manage/process payments, track inventory, gather data on sales/inventory so we can project future budgeting while maintaining our bottom line financially. Once we receive these proposals, we will share this information with our members and provide any new developments.

 SOECC Bylaws Committee:
The SOECC BOD will be forming a committee to review and revise our
current By-laws which have not been revised since we opened our doors 16 years ago. John Flaherty will be spearheading this Committee; we are looking for members who may have a legal background or experience with writing By-Laws to participate in this important project. Any member/s interested, please contact John via the SOECC email for more information.

 Events Committee:
The Events Committee will be organizing Bake Sales for the next couple of months to support our Building Fund so if you would like to join us with baking your favorite Holiday offerings please reach out via SOECC email or Facebook messenger. Our first BAKE SALE will be during our next scheduled event which is our Annual SOECC Halloween Party on Saturday, October 30th . Hope to see you all wearing a costume and join in on the fun; we will be offering Best Male/Female Costume and Best Couple Costume prizes!

Thank you all for your continued support and hope to see you at the Club.
