"Love never fails..."
- 1 Corinthians 13:8
Because God is holy and just and we know of His coming judgments, sometimes we as believers succumb to discouragement and fear. But God is also love and must be seen in the balance of all of His attributes. Some might see the Bible as a story of terror, judgment and death. Yet it is far more a story of God’s great love for mankind even though all have sinned against Him. God loved mankind so much that, in Christ, He paid for their sin because they could not pay the penalty demanded by a holy and just God. We know that God demonstrated “His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners,” (actually enemies of God), “Christ died for us.” And having placed our faith in the Lord as our Savior, we experience His love in the ups and downs, the good and the bad, in life and in death and forever. Believers should not be in discouraged or fearful in their own personal lives because of what happens in the world or of God’s coming judgments. God’s love for the believer is past, present and future. Love never fails. Be encouraged!
