"And it was given to him... authority over every tribe and people and tongue and nation...”
-Revelation 13:7
There is coming a day when man will finally accomplish a one-world government which will be totally hostile to God and His people. The push for such is nothing new in Scripture (Babel), or in human history (Marxism), or even here in America. At the end of World War I, President Woodrow Wilson presented his plan for globalization but was rejected at home and abroad. In the 1940s, Albert Einstein, who had a brilliant mind but not in tune with the Scripture, stated, "There should be an international body empowered to arbitrate disputes and enforce peace. Compulsive arbitration must be supported by an executive force. The only salvation for civilization in the human race lies in the creation of a world government." That leads right up to last week when the Speaker of the House celebrated global citizenship in New York City. Abraham, by faith, looked beyond what man was building, "For he was looking for the city... whose architect and builder is God." We, too, by faith, must look beyond the day of human government to a time when the King of Kings and Lord of Lords will rule the nations with a rod of iron. When "they will hammer their swords into plowshares" and "nations will not lift up sword against nation." Be encouraged!
