“Practice the pause. Pause before judging. Pause before assuming. Pause before accusing. Pause whenever you're about to react harshly, and you'll avoid doing and saying things you'll later regret.” - Lori Deschene - Tiny Buddha

My morning pause with the sunrise and sea

Moments of Presence

This week, slip in time to BE - be with what is, breathe into it, take a pause - notice the little joys in the moment.

From Elyane Youssef

"This year, I hope you’re not afraid of stillness and what it might bring to the surface. I hope you make friends with the constant chatter in your mind and the uncomfortable truths that might be too loud. I hope you move with them, dance with them, and laugh with them.

I hope you know that speed doesn’t mean efficiency, and success doesn’t mean motion. Busyness doesn’t reinforce your sense of self-worth. It diminishes it and moves you away from your core values and strengths.

So this year, I hope you slow down.

I hope you look outside when you wake up in the morning and forget about your screens. I hope you accept that you can’t plan your day; you can only live it…slowly, mindfully, beautifully.

I hope you don’t forget your hot cup of tea, then toss it an hour later. May you take it with you wherever you go because that cup of tea is your anchor…it’s your happiness.

This year, I hope you really slow down.

I hope you prioritize simple things like making your bed, staying two more minutes in the shower, and staring into space. I hope you know what can be postponed and what can’t. I hope you practice saying “it can wait” when something’s not urgent and “I can do this” when something’s pressing.

I hope you enjoy every day and stop waiting for a particular season. Move with the cycles of nature. Survive cold temperatures. Reawaken with the spring. Regrow your inner leaves. Shine in summer.

This year, I hope you genuinely slow down.

I hope you don’t feel guilty about resting. May you stop rushing and multitasking. May you use your senses to ground yourself because mindfulness will keep you alive.

I hope you smell the salty sea breeze and the fresh, crisp air of the forest. I hope you stop for a moment to appreciate the simple, “silly” things around you—an unusual cloud, a rare flower, a full moon, the sound of a hyena at dusk, a bird chirping, or sunlight peeking through the clouds.

This year, I hope you really, really slow down.

I hope you eat real food and make some time for cooking. I hope you appreciate your kitchen and the aromas you can create it with its ingredients.

I hope you fall in love with your living room and garden—just as they are. May you accept their messiness because it’s okay if they’re messy. It means you’re slowing down, trusting your own flow, and being okay with how the world looks around you.

This year, I hope you stop.

I hope you stop judging yourself and your achievements. I hope you stop taking life seriously and release control. May you treat your responsibilities lightly and accept failures. I want you to let go of perfect outcomes because nothing will ever be perfect. Things will remain imperfect and you will remain unhappy until you accept that life is a playful journey that requires a light, flexible mindset.

I hope you realize that January isn’t the beginning and December isn’t the end. July isn’t the best month of the year and August is not your friend. I hope you love yourself—and life—every single day, every single month.

This year, I hope you slow down.

This is your sign to slow down.

Because you have a choice!

Explore what each Enneagram type is seeking, how its habitual strategy
can get in the way, and how to truly receive what you long for.

Intentional Living Tuesday Circle

Facilitator: Sophia Carmien

Topic: Letting Life In: Receiving What Actually Nourishes You

Jan 20th, 7-9 PM MST

Each Enneagram type is organized around a deep longing. Beneath the habits, defenses, and personality patterns, there is something each type is genuinely seeking from life: safety, connection, meaning, peace, value, freedom, love.

Over time, each type develops a strategy to try to secure what it longs for. These strategies once made sense. They are intelligent, protective, familiar. But they can also narrow our lives and quietly block the very things we are trying to receive.

In this Intentional Living Circle, we will explore what each Enneagram type is truly seeking, how its habitual strategy tends to interfere, and what becomes possible when that strategy begins to soften. We will look at what it means to let in the wholeness of life, to relate more directly with yourself, with others, and with what life is offering you.

You will be guided to reflect on how these patterns show up in your own experience and what receiving might look like in real, everyday life. You will leave knowing more about yourself and how to connect with what you really want in life.

Practice:

Spend the day noticing how your body responds to love—without needing to give or receive it. Just be in it.

Allow your nervous system to soften in the presence of love without conditions. Let this be the baseline.

Empowered Living Chats

Empowered Living Chats offer you an opportunity to spend a year diving deep into the Enneagram, in a small group, using the Empowered Living workbook. It supports what is needed for real transformation - time, practice, and community.

The Enneagram isn't about fixing or changing you; it offers you the tools to see yourself and make conscious choices.

Facilitated by Nancy Markow, a certified Enneagram Professional, with 30-plus years of practice and experience.

Chats will start again soon - Watch for upcoming notices regarding dates and times, instructions on obtaining the workbook, and details about the first assignment. I am shooting for Mid-February.

Time to Create

The new moon is tomorrow, January 18th. New Moon energy is about creating.

Astro Butterfly shares: "Staying focused is easier with the new Moon, Sun, Mercury, Mars, and Uranus sextile Saturn in late Pisces. With these five harmonious sextiles, there will be opportunities for achievement, and you'll have the discipline and self-control to deal with emotionally complicated issues. You can work slowly and thoroughly so that what you build can last. There can be a balance of the old and the new in your life while allowing new interests and activities."

What is calling you to create?
