"But the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me..."

- 2 Timothy 4:17

Paul knew the loneliness that can come when serving Christ. He wrote to the Philippians and said he would send Timothy, “for I have no one else of kindred spirit who will genuinely be concerned for your welfare. “To Timothy he wrote, “You are aware of the fact that all who are in Asia turned away from me…” Later he added, “At my first defense no one supported me…” You may be the only family in your block that is truly Christian. You may be the only one in your workplace who is a witness for Christ. There may not be one person among your Christian friends who has the same burden to serve the Lord in the way that you do. Just remember that although Paul knew loneliness, he was never alone. He wrote, “but the Lord stood with me and strengthened me…” even though no one supported him and all deserted him. When the Lord gives only you a personal conviction or burden to act for Him, being alone is never an excuse not to obey Him. Why? Because you are never really alone, the Lord is with you. Be encouraged!
