“...He has risen from the dead...”
- Matthew 28:7
A Wall Street Journal article reported that over thirty-five percent of Christians do not believe in the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is apparent that these are nominal Christians, because biblically, a true Christian must believe the Gospel which is the good news of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ on behalf of the sinner, which all men are. In fact, Paul told the Thessalonians that the basis for our own resurrection is that “we believe Jesus died and rose again.” The Bible is quite clear that “if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins”. Only a risen Christ can deliver you from sin and death and guarantee you the free gift of life eternal. And so, from the early church until Christ comes again, we hold to the cardinal truth of His bodily resurrection. We believe in our hearts and exclaim with our mouths, “Jesus has risen! Risen indeed!” Be encouraged!
