"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good..."
- Psalm 136:1
As we are now into a new year, let us not take the blessings of God for granted. The fact that we have air to breathe, food to eat, water to drink and physical strength are a result of God’s grace. He was not obligated to create us or sustain us, but we know “the Lord is good to all, and His mercies are over all His works.” Jesus taught that God is even “kind to ungrateful and evil men.” “He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Both in the natural and spiritual realms, we see God’s love and provision for all people. He gave His Son to a sinful world desiring all to be saved. We can say with grateful hearts He was not wishing that we should perish. So as we begin this new year, let us continue to give thanks that God, in both a natural and spiritual sense, has extended His gracious hand. The Lord is good! Be encouraged!
