"If Thou, Lord, shouldst mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?"
-Psalm 130:3
How would you like to stand before the Lord today and be confronted with every sin you ever committed? It would be like you were in debt to someone who kept an itemized list of all you owed. Who could have hope, who could stand if all our sins were held against us? No one. No, not one! But we read in the next verse, “But there is forgiveness with Thee, that Thou mayest be feared.” Should we not be awestruck that the Lord is the only One who can, and yes, does forgive your sins? Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. He erased our debt of sin, past, present and future. Therefore, we read, “He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” May we, with the prophet of old, and with great reverence (fear) say, “Who is a God like Thee, who pardons iniquity …?” Yes, all of your sins.
Be encouraged!
