"Behold, Children are a gift of the Lord..."
-Psalm 127:3
According to recent research, more and more Americans, especially the "Millennials" born after 1980, have no religious affiliation even though most were raised in the church. The "Nones," according to the Pew Research Center, have risen to 25% among the 18 to 29-year-olds. Christian parents need to be encouraged to do better. We are commanded in Scripture to "bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." If we farm out our children to all the technological advances and depend entirely upon others to instill faith in them, will it ultimately be saving faith? Paul exhorted the Thessalonians like "a nursing mother" and "a father would his own children,"… imparting to them "not only the gospel of God but also our own lives." Parents should not only take their children to church but also teach them the gospel and live it out in the home. Christian parents should praise the Lord for giving them such a privilege. Cherish the gift(s) that the Lord has given you so that the "fruit of the womb" may be your "reward." Be encouraged!
