A Vision for the Future

What do you want your life to look like in the coming years? Explore the life you want and what you can begin doing now to move toward the life you envision.

Facilitated by Sophia Carmien, Essential Wholeness

In this Intentional Living Circle, you’ll create space to imagine the future you want and explore what it might take to move toward it. You’ll step back and consider the bigger picture of the life you want to create. What are you drawn toward? What possibilities do you see for yourself? What would make your life feel meaningful and fulfilling?

From there, we’ll turn our attention to the present. What choices, changes, or actions could begin moving you in that direction? What can you do now, even in small ways, to start creating the future you envision?

Astro Butterfly - Good NEWS!

I thought you might enjoy this share from Astro Butterfly, a site I love that shares about astrological energies.

On September 10th/11th, 2026, we have a New Moon at 18° Virgo.

This is one of the most auspicious lunations of this year, and a much-needed breather after the intense Eclipse season.

If the eclipses shook things up, this New Moon gives us the RESET button. Life goes back on track – which is a very Virgo thing to say.

But there’s a logic in nature, and a reason for why we need Virgo now. Just like Leo follows Cancer because too much feeling eventually needs expression, Virgo follows Leo because all that fire can get exhausting and needs some grounding.

In the past month, we’ve been running on high Yang energy – big events, big breakthroughs, big decisions, thinking, overthinking, weighing options, reacting, adjusting, moving.

New Moon In Virgo – Yin And Earth
That’s why now we need some Yin energy to ground all this motion and bring us back to ourselves.

Virgo sometimes gets associated with anxiety and overthinking – probably because of its Mercury rulership – but essentially, Virgo is an Earth sign.

Earth signs ground us. They bring us back to nature, to the body, to what is tangible and real. Whenever we move through an Earth season, we tend to reconnect with ourselves and with the world at a very immediate, common-sense, I-can-feel-this-in-my-body level.

Virgo is the mutable Earth sign, so there’s always that impulse to refine and improve – but not in some abstract way. Virgo works with what is actually here.

Virgo is the adjustments that make life work better. You may not realize how badly you needed to get out of the house, feel the sun on your face, take a walk, and eat something proper – until Virgo makes it obvious.

But Virgo energy is much more than yoga, rituals, or decluttering your desk. Virgo intelligence can be applied to pretty much anything – big decisions, complex problems, the question of what to do next.

Virgo Vs Gemini Vs Leo

Ruled by Mercury, Virgo gives us access to a very different kind of intelligence than Gemini.

Gemini Mercury is fast, mental, and conceptual. Virgo Mercury is practical, embodied, reality-based. It doesn’t just ask “What does this mean?” – it asks “What actually works?”

If Gemini Mercury rules the brain, Virgo Mercury rules the gut – our so-called second brain. And this is where some of our most important decisions are made, before the mind starts to build a whole story around them.

And most importantly, with Virgo, we don’t just know something. We know what to do about it.

Because we could look at the exact same problem from a Leo, existential-crisis perspective: “Where am I going?” “Is this aligned with my purpose?” “Am I living my truth or betraying my divine essence?”

OR we can simply take the next most Virgo, common-sense step and deal with what’s actually in front of us. BAM – problem solved.

The Moon In Virgo – The Aspects
And knowing what to do about it is especially relevant at this New Moon, because the New Moon in Virgo is sextile Mars, the planet of action.

The ruler of this New Moon, Mercury, has just switched signs and entered Libra, and is now part of a very nice Grand Air Trine with Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in Aquarius. This means the New Moon itself plugs into a much larger story of change and new possibilities.

Venus has also just changed signs and is now at 0° Scorpio, so around the lunation, we have 2 of the most personal planets changing signs. Talk about New Moon, new beginnings energy.

And the Venus shift carries even more weight – not only because Venus enters Scorpio, a sign where she will spend approximately 3 months (3 times more than her usual sojourn) due to her upcoming retrograde…

… but ALSO because the upcoming Sun-Venus conjunction, also called the Venus Star Point, will happen at the same 0° Scorpio on October 23rd.

So there’s something about this New Moon in Virgo that goes beyond just a monthly reset – it activates the very essence of a story that will continue to unfold over the next 18 months.

The Moon In Virgo – A Swimming Race

And while all of this larger background astrology is happening, the aspect the New Moon makes to Mars gives us the practical essence of the lunation.

The New Moon at 18° Virgo applies a tight sextile to Mars at 19° Cancer. Virgo’s ability to master the material world meets Cancer’s intuitive, instinctive intelligence.

The Sabian Symbol of the New Moon in Virgo is an almost literal description of this: “A Swimming Race.”

A swimming race demands discipline, but you also have to read the water, read the other swimmers, adjust your pace, your breath, your next move – in real time. You can’t disappear into your head. The race keeps pulling you back into the moment.

The race here is not about competition for the sake of winning – but the kind of total presence where you are fully ON – responding to what’s happening, making constant micro-adjustments, and giving the moment everything you’ve got.

If you reflect back on moments when you were in a race or a competition, you may remember how naturally you began to function at a much higher caliber – not necessarily because you wanted to win, but because the setup required total focus and presence.

But what would our life be like if we lived in that state of flow – and applied that presence and mastery to every little thing we do?

If we were intentional about what we do, fully present, fully engaged, fully ON? Chances are, our lives would be much more aligned with our full potential.

Zooming out again at the astrology of the New Moon – the Grand Air Trine, Venus at 0° Scorpio activating the upcoming Star Point, and a New Moon in Virgo sextile Mars:

This is a time to get serious about what we truly, truly want.

0° Scorpio is the point zero of desire and truth. These are not the superficial things in life, not the things we think we want because they sound good, or because other people want them.

0° Scorpio is not about being popular, or making more money. It’s about something that touches the very core of our desire – the thing underneath all the other things we say we want.

And from there, from that seed of desire and truth – what can you practically do – not affirmations, not wishful thinking, not waiting for the right circumstances – but actually get closer to what you want?

One real, practical step.

Once the race is on, there’s no turning back. And when desire meets presence, commitment, and action, you don’t just want it anymore. You go get it.
