encouragement side

"In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

-1 Thessalonians 5:18

We have so much to be thankful for, most importantly, our personal relationship with the Lord, the forgiveness of sin and our eternal destiny. We could also mention food, family and all the blessings of this life. We should also be thankful that the holy standard of Scripture and the conviction of the Holy Spirit work together to humble us and bring us low before the Lord. We are called to be thankful because even "though the Lord is exalted, yet He regards the lowly." It is He who "remembered us in our low estate, for His lovingkindness is everlasting." If your circumstances bring humility, give thanks, for it demonstrates Christlikeness. It was Christ who "humbled Himself…to the point of death, even death on a cross." Therefore, "humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you" and be thankful. Yes, in everything give thanks. Be encouraged!
