"Do not cast me off in the time of old age; do not forsake me when my strength fails."
- Psalm 71:9
Growing older may have its setbacks, but for me, the past few days have been such a blessing. How can I thank you enough for all the cards and notes as you gave to me a Word of Encouragement on my 75th birthday? It is such a blessing to be still able, by His grace, to continue to impart the gospel and the Word of God by mouth and pen as the Lord continues to open the door. To know that you are saved and find encouragement from the Word of God just adds to the blessings. To see our children saved and serving the Lord and the blessing of Psalm 128. “Indeed, may you see your children’s children” – all ten of them, is far greater than all the world has to offer. And the concern raised in Psalm 71 is answered for me in Isaiah where I read, “Even to your old age, I shall be the same, and even to your graying years, I shall bear you! I have done it, and I shall carry you; And I shall bear you, and I shall deliver you.” And so may all of us look forward to the day when “the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins… might deliver us out of this present evil age… “Be encouraged!
