If therefore the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.

- John 8:36

In October of 2004, the week before the presidential election, I was driving from the Navajo Reservation to Albuquerque, New Mexico when I heard the radio host say, “We have believed many things as being true simply because the media has reported them as true, even when they knew they were false, in order to gain their own power.” This certainly has been true when it comes to political correctness and bias such as manmade climate change. But it is also true in a religious sense. For example, the false teaching of Roman Catholicism and Mormonism enslaves people to the church rather than setting them free in Christ. False belief holds the minds of men and women in bondage imposed by external compulsion. Jesus said, “the truth shall make you free” and “Thy word is truth”. Therefore, come to the Word. Believe the Word and be free! Praise the Lord that your salvation is not being enslaved to some performance or belonging to a certain church or organization. Rather through faith in Christ, it is a free gift from God that has set you free. Be encouraged!
