"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed in us."
-Romans 8:18
When I was hired by an airline, as with all new hires, I was on probation for the first year. Living in New York City, flying nightly cargo flights out of JFK was less than ideal. Living on probation pay in New York with our second child on the way was challenging. But I knew better days were yet to come. Even as a Christian, life can be pretty challenging for each of us today. In the words of J. C. Ryle, "It is a probationary period: we are still at school. We are learning patience, long-suffering, gentleness and meekness, which we could hardly learn if we had our good things now. But there is an eternal holiday yet to begin." The Scripture tells us our "momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison.” There is no reason to let the present challenges and difficulties get you down. For “When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.” Be encouraged!
