"To...the church in Philadelphia write: He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens..."

- Revelation 3:7-13

To this church the Lord describes Himself as holy and true, signifying He is the chosen One of God who can be fully trusted. Jesus said, "I am the way, and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me." Jesus is the only door to salvation. Having the key of David signifies He is the only entrance into the future Messianic Kingdom of God. Many have tried to close the door to salvation or enter by another way. However, "there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved." The door is now open, but someday it will be shut. May we all tell others, "Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near," "for He says, "At the acceptable time I listened to you, and on the day of salvation I helped you"; behold, now is "the acceptable time," behold now is "the day of salvation. Be encouraged!"
