"...the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me."
-Galatians 2:20
I began my Christian life not knowing anything about the Bible, but I knew on day one that nobody loved me like Jesus. Yes, I was at peace with God, and the guilt and weight of my sin were gone, and the love of God had been shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit, but I knew none of that from the Bible as a day-old believer. What I did know was that I was experiencing a love far greater than anything I had experienced before. I knew nobody loved me like Jesus. In the words of the hymn writer, “Amazing love! How can it be that Thou my God shouldst die for me!” And 60 years later, I am still saying, "Nobody loves me like Jesus."
O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
Vast, unmeasured, boundless free!
Rolling as a mighty ocean in its fullness over me,
Underneath me, all around me,
Is the current of Thy love;
Leading onward, leading homeward to my glorious rest above.
O the deep, deep love of Jesus,
Spread His praise from shore to shore!
How He loveth ever loveth,
Changeth never, never more;
How He watches o’er His loved ones,
Died to call them all His own;
How for them He intercedeth,
Watcheth o’er them from the throne.
Nobody loves you like Jesus. Be encouraged!
