"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how will it be made salty again? It is good for nothing anymore, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men."
- Matthew 5:13
Last week, while buying gas on my way back from the Navajo Reservation, a young mother doing the same approached me and shared the gospel and her testimony with me. I commended her for her faith and courage to share with a complete stranger because the majority of Christians seldom speak of Christ outside of the walls of the church. A recent editorial in the Wall Street Journal said that Christianity in America is on its heels and in retreat and that the secular left has won the culture war. It was also stated that Christianity is so weak that its witness has become meaningless in the public square. Has the salt lost its flavor? Will the secular left continue to trample Christian values when it comes to creation, abortion, marriage and morality? This young mother, just three years in the Lord, approached me and “began to speak the word of God with boldness.” Jesus promised that all believers, being indwelt with the Holy Spirit, have the power to be His witnesses. Like the young mother at the gas station, you can do the same. Be encouraged!
