“He is not here, for He has risen.”
-Matthew 28:6
True biblical Christianity rests on the fact that Jesus rose again. The Scripture declares, “…if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins.” A Barna survey revealed that 35% of those who claimed to be "born again" did not believe Christ rose from the dead. It was reported that less than half of millennials identify as a Christian, making them the first non-majority-Christian generation in American history. It's not that they all deny their belief in God or have an outright rejection of Christianity. It appears that they have found something more important to them then the Christian faith. As we approach Easter, what should be of the most importance? The answer is clear as we read, “For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures...” Why is this of first importance? Because the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the crowning proof, He won the battle over sin and death on your behalf. Jesus has risen. Risen indeed! Be encouraged!
