Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
-John 3:7
Recently, I came up behind a car that displayed numerous bumper stickers reflecting a rejection of Christianity. One said, "God protect me from your followers." Another read, "Born right the first time," mocking the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, who said we must be born again. For those of us who have been born again, we know of its unlimited blessings. To mention a few, we have been given the "right to become children of God." "We have peace with God," and "the Spirit of God dwells" within us. We now belong to "the Father of mercies and God of all comfort." We have been called out of "darkness into His marvelous light" and have "every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ." We have been given the "free gift of eternal life," and "our citizenship is in heaven." And all of this "in order that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." With humility and thanksgiving, we give praise to God that we have been born again. Be encouraged!
