"In everything give thanks;for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."

- 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Tomorrow we look forward to Thanksgiving Day. But to give thanks in everything seems like an impossibility, not because there are things we struggle to give thanks for, but because there is so much for which to be thankful. Certainly, we can begin by giving thanks for our Lord and Savior who took away our sin and gave us a new life with Him. We can give thanks that we live in a nation where we have the freedom to worship, live the Christian life and tell others about our Savior. We can give thanks for our family, our friends, meals that we have to share and our homes to gather in. We can give thanks for our work, financial provision and our health. Even when those things become challenging areas of our life, we can still give thanks because “we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose”. We can give thanks because someday, we will be in heaven. Then we will fully know why it was God’s will that we give thanks. Be encouraged!
