"...Lead me to the rock that is higher than I."

- Psalm 61:32

How do you handle your failures and sins? When we entered the 21st century, positive thinking, self-esteem and blame shifting were the common solutions devised by man for failure and sin. Coupled with pride and self-sufficiency, many simply gloss over their weaknesses. Some just want to focus on everyone else’s sin. At the time when David’s son Absalom was murdered by Joab and David’s enemies remained many and great, David realized that he was his own worst enemy due to the failures and sin of his own personal life. He realized he did not have the answer, nor did any friend or foe. It was then that he cried out, “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” The New Testament tells us that this rock is the Lord Jesus Christ. Yes, the Lord is our rock, refuge, and strength in the midst of our own inadequacy. And because of our failures and sins, we can be thankful there is One who is higher than you and I. Be encouraged!
