"For if while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son..."

-Romans 5:10

Recently, while on the Navajo Reservation, someone said that no one is the enemy of God. But the Bible clearly states that before salvation, "you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind" toward God. At that time, there was a mutual hostility. We were hostile to God, living in sin and having other gods in His rightful place, including ourselves. But God was also hostile to us in that we would face His wrath on the day of judgment. However, praise be to God, we read that "Thou art a God of forgiveness, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, and abounding in loving-kindness." Our gracious God made the first move by sending His Son to die for our sins so that we could go from being the enemies of God to being His children. For "as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name." Now, as children of God, "we love (Him) because He first loved us." Nothing "shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Be encouraged!
