"...save others, snatching them out of the fire..."

- Jude 23

Recently, while in Southern California, we experienced record heat with temperatures reaching 115 degrees. Nearby, a wildfire was consuming thousands of acres, filling the valley with smoke. However, we could drive less than an hour to the coast where the temperature dropped into the lower 70’s making it very pleasant and comfortable. This reminded me of the fate of all mankind. Some are on a path to great comfort and blessing which the Lord calls the Kingdom of Heaven. Others, are on a path to an unquenchable fire which the Lord calls eternal Hell. Because of the latter, we are commanded to be evangelistic, to “save others, snatching them out of the fire.” Although evangelism appears to be problematic for most Christians, God never intended that evangelism or any other command be difficult or a burden for us. When He commands us to do something He provides, by His grace, the means to do so. He has shed His love abroad in our hearts so that we might have His compassion for those who are perishing. He has empowered us by the Holy Spirit so we witness in His strength and not our own. Therefore, witnessing is not a burden but it is a privilege and a demonstration of His love and power. Be encouraged!
