"His enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat."

-Matthew 13:25

The church, almost from its beginning, has had tares among the wheat. True believers and nominal Christians, holy and unholy, converted and unconverted, often sit side by side. The wolf in sheep’s clothing, deceived by his own self-righteousness, blends in with the flock. The false professions of many mimic the true professions of those who enter in by saving faith. We may not be able to separate those who say they are saved and are not from those who are truly saved, but on the day of judgment, the Lord will. Many on that day will claim to have known and served the Lord only to hear Him say, “I never knew you, depart from me.” Others will hear Him say, “Inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” For the Lord has clearly declared, “I know My own, and My own know Me.” As born again children of God who trust Christ alone to take away our sins, with a living hope we can say, “I know whom I have believed.” Yes! “I know Jesus, and Jesus knows me.” Be encouraged!
