"And from that city many of the Samaritans believed in Him… for we have heard for ourselves and know that this One is indeed the Savior of the world."

-John 4:39-42

There is only One who can save. His name is Jesus! Isaiah declared of Him, "I, even I, am the Lord; and there is no other savior besides Me." Our Lord was given the name Jesus which means "Savior," for only He could "save His people from their sins." He saves us from the guilt, power and penalty of sin. Someday He will remove us from the presence and consequences of sin. No matter how great the sin, the person who comes to Him in faith will find salvation – forgiveness and the free gift of eternal life. He is just as able and willing to save today as He was when He came to the Samaritans almost 2,000 years ago. Presently He does not save us from all sorrow, harm or suffering. But in His timing, even that will come to an end. With the Psalmist, we must say, "How blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!" Therefore, "we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ." Be encouraged!
