Alignment Circles resume in August.
Alignment Circle
Hosted by Anca Kuhns, Beyond Orion
From Anca..."I had a very interesting little "play" unfold in this morning's meditation.
It began with a full, fast-flowing river. At first, I thought it was flooding, but the banks were still clearly defined.
There were people caught in the current, and my first thought was that they were drowning. They weren't. But it was obvious that all of their energy was going toward staying afloat.
Then my attention shifted to another group of people. They were standing on a small patch of land just off the riverbank. They were safe. Some of them even had dry clothes. Yet they were trapped between the rushing river and a massive rock wall, almost like the edge of a canyon.
And then...The image disappeared. But I got it.
It felt like the moment after survival.
For me, this represents one of the hardest stretches of the journey. Yes, you're safe. Then, you find enough stability that most of your energy is no longer spent trying not to drown.
And at first, that feels like relief.
But as the nervous system begins to "thaw", something else becomes clear: you realize that not being on the brink of destruction isn't the same as fully living. You're not necessarily back in relationship with life!
Instead, a different kind of isolation can emerge—physical, emotional, or perceptual. And with it, a different kind of suffering. One we often don't even recognize as suffering because it doesn't come with a clear object. There's no obvious crisis to solve, no immediate danger to escape. To me, it points to this:
Now that you're on solid enough ground... how do you begin living in relationship with life again?
Field Question #4: Where Do I Feel Life Again?
