"...I will come again..."
- John 14:3
The Bible of the Christian faith is a unique book among the religions of the world. Unlike the Koran, the Vedas of Hinduism, the sayings of Buddha and Confucius or the Book of Mormon, it is a prophetic book. Twenty-seven percent of the Bible was given by God as a foretelling of the future. The Lord Jesus Christ, unlike Mohammed, Buddha, Krishna, Confucius and Joseph Smith, will come again. Over 1,800 verses in the Bible make reference to the second coming of Christ. We know from Scripture that all things begin with Christ and all things end with Christ for He has declared, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end”. Therefore, the second coming of Christ is a cardinal doctrine of the Christian faith.
The world may be full of sin, evil and death, but we know from the Scripture, in the end, He wins. The second coming of Christ is the present day hope of every believer. He is our purifying hope because “everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” His appearing as “our great God and Savior” is our blessed hope. And in His coming, we also have “the hope of glory”. He promised to come and He will come. Therefore, we say and pray, “Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” Be encouraged!
