"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

-John 8:32

When someone places their faith in Christ, who is “the way, and the truth, and the life,” they are set free. What are they set free from? Certainly, at the moment of salvation, they gained spiritual freedom, including freedom from the penalty and the power of sin, but it doesn't stop there. The Apostle Paul summarized it into one statement when he said, "I am free from all men." He was free from the bondage of religious ritual and tradition. He was free from the doctrines and theology of men. He was free from the expectations of his peers. He was free from the intimidation of controlling personalities. He was free from group thinking and the agendas of others. He was free of cultural and social influence. He was free from the falsehood of his enemies. He was free from the fear of failure. He was free to serve the Lord and his fellow man. He was free to take the lead. He was free to preach the gospel to all. He was free to evangelize the lost. He was free to be all that God intended him to be. Are you free? You can be free. Be encouraged!
