"Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem..."
-Matthew 2:11
Over 600 years before the birth of our Lord, the prophet Micah foretold He would be born in Bethlehem. God is always faithful and faithful to His Word. "God is not a man, that He should lie..." Do you believe what God has revealed in His word? According to the Scriptures, He came to be the Savior of the world. John, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, twice called Him the "Savior of the world" and quoted John the Baptist, who declared, "Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." How sad it is that the majority of the world has always rejected Him. Have you come to Christ for the forgiveness of your sin? If not, why not? Ryle writes, “Christ is an almighty Savior, and a Savior of all mankind... He did not suffer for a few persons only, but for all mankind... The blood that He shed was precious enough to wash away the sins of all... The sin that He took up and bore on the cross was the sin of the whole world." May this Christmas remind you of why Jesus was born in Bethlehem. God, being faithful, sent His Son to die for your sins so that you may know Him, glorify Him, and spend eternity with Him. What a wonderful time of the year to be saved by the Savior. Be encouraged!
