"...the sun will be darkened..."

- Matthew 24:29

Last week multitudes watched the full eclipse of the sun that moved across America with shouts of joy and celebration as the day was turned to darkness. Some said it was a once in a lifetime experience while others were already looking forward to the next projected for 2024. I wondered how many looked up with the realization that “the heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the works of His hands” and exclaimed, “O Lord, how many are Thy works! In wisdom Thou hast made them all…” Believers look forward to that day of glory when “the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky…” Then the One who created the sun and the moon, the heavens and earth “is coming with the clouds and every eye will see Him.” Not just millions across America or around the world but without exception everyone will see Him! And this will eclipse all other events in human history when Christ comes in all His glory. With even greater certainty than the moon eclipsing the sun, the Son of Man will come. Be encouraged!
