"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life."

- John 3:16

If all we had is John 3:16 we would know that there is a God who loves us and has proven His love by the giving of His Son. We would know that God through Christ freely gives eternal life to all who believe in Him. Because of God’s great love for mankind, He has commanded that the Gospel be preached to all creation and unto the uttermost part of the world. But John 3:16 goes beyond the simple truth of salvation by faith. If God has met our greatest need in Christ will He not meet our other needs? We read in Scripture, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things.” Everything that we actually need in this life and the life to come is made possible in Jesus Christ. John 3:16 is an affirmation that God can be trusted no matter what we face in life. Therefore, we say with Paul, “And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Be encouraged!
