So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.

The evolutionary mindset has determined that much of what the Bible calls sin is a disease. The theory is that addictions and aberrant behavior is not the fault of the individual but is the result of his genetic makeup. Since science has discovered the cause, in time, it will discover the solution. Therefore, science becomes the savior. As a result, not only the secular world, but the church has turned to psychology to resolve man’s struggle with sin. Counselors are as common as preachers on the church staff. But as believers, we should know that there is only One who can deliver us from the power, penalty and in time, the presence of sin. The sinner may be encouraged to turn to man’s solution for sin, but the Bible encourages him to turn to Christ. What was once, “The devil made me do it” is now “my genes made me do it”. However, every person will be held accountable for their behavior in the end. If you have come to Christ because you were convicted that your sin is your sin, give thanks to the Lord today and be encouraged!
