"For it is time to seek the Lord..."
-Hosea 12:10
Most Americans are experiencing a time like never before. To be told to stay home, with no work, no shopping, no sports, no movies, no school and even no church is completely foreign to them. However, if you are my age, you may recall a similar time. When I was 11, in 1952, the poliovirus sent shock waves of fear across America, including my family which had four children. Movie theaters, swimming pools, and other gathering places were closed. Parents were afraid to let their children wander out. By the time the Salk polio vaccine was available, 60,000 children had contracted the virus, and more than 3000 had died. The children and young people who survived faced some form of paralysis for life. Even in our small rural Kansas community of 500, one young man would spend the rest of his life in an iron lung. I do not have any statistics, but I do know of many young people, including myself, who came to know the Lord in the 50s and 60s. With another deadly virus spreading across America, it is time for all, from the young to the old, to seek the Lord. There is the issue of staying home and being safe. The greater issue is being saved. “Behold, now is “THE ACCEPTABLE TIME,” behold, now is the DAY OF SALVATION.”
Be encouraged!
