"We must work the works of Him who sent Me, as long as it is day; night is coming, when no man can work."
- John 9:4
We read in the writings of D.L. Moody, “We all complain of the shortness of time; and yet we have more than we know what to do with. Our lives are spent either in doing nothing at all, or doing nothing to the purpose, or in doing nothing we ought to do. We are always complaining that our days are few, and acting as though there would be no end to them”. Spurgeon would add, “I never knew a man who was always hoping to do great things in the future that ever did much in the present… I would count myself worse than a fool if I should throw away my todays in the expectations of tomorrows, and rest upon the couch of idleness today… If we serve God as we ought to serve Him, considering what He has done for us, we shall find that we shall have more than our hands full…” The Psalmist writes, “This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Today, let us “serve the Lord with gladness.” Yes, today! Be encouraged!
