"And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost."

-Revelation 22:17

We are now experiencing the highest rate of inflation in 40 years. Inflation will also characterize the end times when God pours out His judgment upon a world that is rejecting Him. At that time, one will have to work all day just to have enough to sustain him with the food necessary for that day. But there is no inflation when it comes to what is necessary with God. He has never raised the cost of salvation. The wages of sin is still death, and the gift of eternal life is still free. Why is it free? Because Christ paid the price for our salvation when He gave Himself a ransom for all. Why does the cost never increase? Why is salvation never inflationary? Because on the cross, our Lord paid the ultimate price to take away our sin. The highest possible price was paid at Calvary. No higher price can be paid. Therefore, when we come to the end of the Bible, the Lord, who came into the world to save sinners, makes one final offer to all who are lost when He states, “and let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.” As we share Christ, may we find many who are thirsty and wish to be saved, convicted by the gospel, that they cannot earn salvation because it remains absolutely free. Be encouraged!
