"The way of the wicked is like darkness..."

- Proverbs 4:19

My memory allows me to go back as far as the 1948 presidential election; and in every election of my memory, there has been a tendency to focus on the failures of the candidates as much as their strengths. But, if ever there was an election that reveals to us the utter sinfulness of those who wish to lead this nation, it is the present one. We are witnessing unrestrained sin, coming at us from every angle and in each case, the sin is verified to be true. John Wesley preached in the 1700’s, “It would be endless to enumerate all the species of wickedness, whether in thought, word, or action, that now over spreads the earth in every nation and city and family.” He went on to say, “Hence there is in the heart of every child of man an inexhaustible fund of ungodliness and unrighteousness, deeply and strongly rooted in the soul that nothing less than Almighty grace can cure it.” Now is the time for every believer, having experienced the grace of God, to rise above the muck and to be a light to a nation that has descended into darkness. It is our time to show by the grace of God in Christ Jesus, the distinguishing difference between the saved and the sinner, the righteous and the wicked. Be encouraged!
