“I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.”

- John 14:18

“All the lonely people where do they all come from? … where do they all belong?” Researchers now believe that as many as 60 million Americans are lonely. Health care providers are now beginning to treat loneliness as a disease or a medical condition. But the Bible treats loneliness as a way of life. People get hungry, people get tired and people get lonely. The world is filled with people who have hundreds of friends on Facebook and thousands of followers on Instagram, yet, according to a former U.S. Surgeon General, they feel profoundly alone. In the Scripture, God has a twofold solution to loneliness for believers. If believers carried out all the “one another” commands such as love, serve, comfort, admonish, encourage, edify and fellowship with one another they would not have time to be lonely. But the most important answer that the Lord has provided to loneliness is Himself. Christ indwells every believer by the Holy Spirit. As Paul said, “…Nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me…” In reality, you are never alone. Be encouraged!
