"...seal up the book until the end of time; many will go back and forth, and knowledge will increase,"

- Daniel 12:4

Daniel’s prophecy looks forward to a time when there will be a ceaseless search for knowledge. Never in the history of mankind have we had right at our fingertips such a wealth of knowledge. There is an almost unlimited source provided by the internet and other technological advancements. Humanism tells us that with an increase of knowledge, mankind will eventually solve the problems of the world. Yet, has the increase in knowledge even slowed the proliferation of evil, immorality, crime, hatred or war? In fact, these things have only escalated with scientific and technological advancement. For example, the internet which can be a pertinent source of knowledge for today, has an equally dark side that appeals to the sinful desires of mankind. The ceaseless search for knowledge and wisdom continues as man, in general, fails to find the real answers to life by looking in the wrong places. In the Scripture, we read, “Thus says the Lord, ‘Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom… but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on earth…’” We who know the Lord, know that our search for the knowledge we need in this life and the life to come ended when we placed our faith in Jesus Christ. Be encouraged!
