"For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please."

- Galatians 5:17

According to the Church of Satan website, “Satan is the symbol that best suits the nature of we who are carnal by birth – people who feel no battles raging between our thoughts and feelings…” This reminds me of my life before Christ when I did pretty much what pleased me without any conviction that it was wrong. But as soon as I placed my faith in Christ, a battle began to rage within. A battle began between sin and conviction of sin that came to me from the Word of God. A battle began between my selfish fleshly desires and the spiritual desires that came from the indwelling Holy Spirit. I could no longer enjoy much of what I enjoyed prior to Christ but found a greater joy in pleasing Him. The sin and evil of this present world, inspired by Satan, the god of this world, created a battle in my heart, thoughts and feelings. Thank God for the battles that will continue to the end of our lives as evidence that we belong to Him. Thank God they will come to an end!
Be encouraged!
